About Us

eGlobalfares was a vision of Ian Bennyworth, Director of Operations who recognized, from first-hand experience that there was a need for a global booking portal to provide the content needed by Corporate TMCs and multi-national corporations for local point of sale fares. This portal needed to be multi-GDS, accessible 24/7 and provide the broadest global fare content available. The system must retain bookings in the GDS where it was searched and booked, but also needed to be accessible to the booking agency 24/7.

Ian  and CEO Dave Rifkin met as Charter Members of Travelsavers consortia TWIN group. The TWIN group concept provided members the unique (at the time) ability to exchange local market information and the opportunity to work with one another to provide service to their respective and shared multi-national corporate accounts. In 2004 this was a manual process and there was a huge need for the automation of these functions. It became clear that Ian and Dave shared the same vision and a great interest in creating an automated global collaboration solution. 

Ian grabbed a hold of the idea and the eGlobalfares tool was on its way to being a reality. The goal was to facilitate the real-time access of fares around the globe, customized configurations for defined networks of agencies, with multi-GDS functionality. It must include private and published fares, Low Cost Carrier / Web Fares and specialty fare content for those servicing qualified travelers. It needed to be an efficient way to search, compare, book and manage reservations made 24/7 across the globe. This may be in the subscribers GDS or that of a partner in the same network. Another requirement was the ability to integrate into existing subscriber workflows including their GDS platform(s). This meant interfacing with existing mid and back office systems for, Accounting, Reporting, Quality Control and Duty of Care.
