eGlobalfares was a vision of Ian Bennyworth who recognized, from first hand experience that there was a need for a  global booking portal to provide the content needed by  Corporate TMCs and multi-national corporations. This portal needed to be multi-GDS, accessible 24/7 and provide the broadest global fare content available. The system must retain bookings in the GDS where it was searched and booked, but also needed to be accessible to the booking agency 24/7.Ian Bennyworth and Dave Rifkin met courtesy of Travelsavers consortia in their special international agency trade group TWIN. The TWIN group concept was one of the first of its kind with a select group of agencies who were committed to regular communication, the ability to exchange local market information and the opportunity to work with one another to provide service to their respective and shared multi-national corporate accounts. In 2004 this was a manual process and there was a huge need for the automation of these functions. It became clear that Ian and Dave shared the same vision and a great interest in creating an automated solution. Ian grabbed a hold of the idea and the eGlobalfares tool was on its way to being a reality. The goal was to facilitate the real-time access of fares around the globe, customized configurations for closed groups of agencies/offices, access to full multi-GDS private and published fares, Low Cost Carrier / Web Fares and the ability of efficiently making, processing and managing international and domestic reservations. Another important requirement was the ability to help integrate the content into the existing workflow of the subscribing agency and this includes interfacing with existing Quality Control, Accounting, reporting and Security tracking applications.

Ian, based upon the obvious potential of such a unique airfare management tool proceeded to form eGlobalfares. Thanks to the expertise of Ian and under the project management of Andrew Thomas, eGlobalfares was able to evolve quickly and develop its functionality.. eGlobalfares is a constantly evolving, cutting edge global solution for travel management companies, consortia, franchises, B2B providers, consolidators and corporations worldwide. eGlobalfares is designed to be flexible and adaptable to help its clients in many different areas. eGlobalfares prides itself on being an end to end solution provider.

Dave’s interest in the creation of and development of eGlobalfares and his strong belief in the impact the technology could have in the market place if executed well was shown when he became both investor and CEO in 2006.

We now have over 8,000 desktops in over 70 Countries, offer Travefusion and AgentWare Low Cost Carrier / Web fare content, integrated rail  on the portal with SilverRail Technologies to bring rail carrier schedules, booking and ticketing capabilities  and integrate the booking into the GDS of the user.

Leadership

David RifkinDavid M. Rifkin, CTC

President / CEO

Dave is a travel industry veteran with over 30 years of experience. He was born into the travel industry and gained broad knowledge through his involvement with, and eventual ownership of, the family business, Rifkin Travel, Inc (founded in 1959). Always on the leading edge of technology, Dave participated on numerous supplier advisory boards and his agency was repeatedly chosen as a beta test site for many of the industry’s technical advances. In 2003, Rifkin Travel merged with Adelman Travel Group, and Dave assumed the role of Adelman’s SVP of Corporate Sales with responsibility for driving retention and new account sales.

Dave has worked in a consulting capacity in the U.S. and Europe. He was amongst the first to design and implement a Pan – European managed online booking solution, including the creation and management of a client owned agency in the UK to provide strong, customer focused service.

In 2006, Dave became a primary investor in eGlobalfares and helped drive the company’s launch in the U.S. and other markets around the globe.

Dave is a graduate of Bucknell University and has served on innumerable Philanthropic organizations’ board of directors where he has held executive roles and been recognized for his community efforts. Dave serves on the Board of Directors of DecisionPoint Systems, Inc and is a member of GBTA.

 

Ian BennyworthIan Bennyworth

Director of Operations

Born in Kingston Upon Hull, England, Ian has been involved in the travel industry since he joined a local retail agency at the age of 19. Even while pursuing a 7-year professional soccer career, his interest in travel remained strong, resulting in his being recruited for managerial roles at several corporate agencies – QP Travel, Going Places, and Stellaris Travel.

In 1994 Ian co-founded Corporate Travel International and assumed the role of that company’s Corporate Sales Director, helping to build the agency into one of the leading UK corporate travel businesses.

Ian has a wealth of experience in managing the travel requirements of multi-national corporate clients. He has spent considerable time in the US gaining a deep understanding of the operations and needs of the corporate US market. Ian has great depth and knowledge of the GDS processes and agency processes which is invaluable in providing end-to-end solutions tied to eGlobalfares.

 

Andrew ThomasAndrew Thomas

IT Director

A graduate of the University of Wolverhampton in the UK, Andrew has been developing software professionally for over 25 years. He developed in-house systems for the TI Group, before becoming International IT Manager of Apollo Sports Technologies based in Chicago, and then moving to Apollo West and Reynolds Cycle in San Diego. Andrew formed RMJ Computing Ltd. in 1998 becoming a freelance software developer, broadening his experience to the automotive industry with Softlab – the IT arm of Rover Group. He then moved to the public sector with Oak Systems Group and ZEDA ABM writing software for magistrates’ courts and police.

Andrew joined a UK based software developer in February 2000, developed their first commercial product, the award-winning e-commerce web-site creation tool eGenie, and then went on to develop a web-based local directory service local-shop.com, before specializing in travel systems. Andrew was Galileo-trained in London, and Sabre-trained in Dallas. During his career he has developed booking engines, fare management systems, low-cost carrier booking systems, a GDS profile management system, and itinerary retrieval systems. Andrew directs the eGlobalfares development team from the Malaysia office.

 

Luis Yofe

VP Payment and Customer Solutions

Luis is a travel industry professional with extensive experience in operations, technology, product development and innovation, both in B2B and B2C.

During his tenure at Sabre, BCD Travel and CWT Travel, Luis performed a variety of international roles, working in all regions of the world with clients, partners and suppliers.

Joining Mastercard in 2012, Luis entered the world of travel payments, supporting financial institutions worldwide with products and services tailored to the travel industry. Luis was specifically focused on the development of virtual payment solutions for airlines, hotels and travel management companies. He further expanded his payments and virtual card knowledge and payments expertise at Conferma, CSI and ConnexPay.

Luis has been involved with ACTE, GBTA, and HEDNA for many years and is passionate about the travel industry. He is a native of Argentina and now calls Dallas, Texas home.

 

Jim SutrickJim Sutrick, Manager (USA based)

Customer Support

Jim Sutrick has been in the travel industry for over 30 years. Jim received expert training gained invaluable industry knowledge and experience at Adelman Travel Group, where he worked for over 12 years before moving on to other large agencies. Jim performed multiple roles from: International Travel Consultant to Senior National Support Specialist, to Training Manager. He has also held positions in Quality control, and the implementation and support of online booking tools. Jim brings to eGlobalfares his fluency on Sabre, Apollo and Worldspan GDS. Jim is a graduate from Lakeland University in Sheboygan, WI where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Computer Science. We are very pleased that Jim joined eGlobalfares in March of 2008.

 

AO2Adrian Osoianu, Manager (UK based)

Customer Support

Adrian Osoianu entered the travel industry in 2006 in his native Romania after having received a degree in Geography and Environmental Science as well as certifications in Travel and Tourism including IATA. Adrian brings to eGlobalfares his knack and proficiency in Romanian, English, French, conversational Italian and Spanish and basic German. His GDS experience and knowledge include Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan. Adrian has held positions as a corporate and leisure agent, events organizer, emergency after-hours call center and has provided product support and training to clients and colleagues. We are delighted to welcome Adrian to the eGlobalfares Customer Support Team as of January 2016.
